The Big Book of Angel Tarot

I am a Certified Angel and Oracle Card Reader – certified by Doreen Virtue LLC. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise that I am huge fan of her tarot and oracle card decks!

The Angel Tarot Cards was a fairly early effort by Doreen Virtue and her friend and business partner, Radleigh Valentine. This was their first tarot deck collaboration! They have since published several other tarot decks (along with literally dozens of oracle card decks). I have several of the tarot decks and, in my opinion, this is the best one.

When I was certified she did sign this book for me! The deck itself does come with a LWB (Little White Book), but these mini-books rarely have enough information to suit me and the type is usually so tiny.

The Big Book of Angel Tarot is a great supplement to the deck. Not only does it include the typical card-by-card explanation for all 78 cards, but provides a background behind the creation of the deck and the authors’ approach to the tarot as the “language of the Divine”. Some great spreads are included including my favorite spread for looking at love relationships – the 12-card Loving Heart Spread.

I love Doreen and Radleighs’ bright and beautiful approach to the tarot! It is heart-warming and uplifting! Doreen dreamed of creating an Angel Tarot that would be accessible to everyone including sensitive people. She feels that many of the conventional images and words in earlier decks and many modern decks are fear-based and disturbing. She mused  “…I dreamed of creating an angel-based tarot deck. I envisioned tarot cards based upon the original system of 78 cards. Yet, in my vision, there would be no scary symbols, images, or words in this gentle deck of angel tarot cards.”
